2 Missouri Deputies Shot While Serving Warrant in Drug Case

Two Pettis County deputies were shot early Friday morning while trying to serve a warrant in connection to a narcotics investigation in Missouri, according to state authorities.

Shots Fired During Early Morning Warrant

Around 6 a.m., the deputies approached a location to execute a search warrant tied to a drug-related case. According to a statement from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Drug and Crime Control Division, the suspect at the scene opened fire, injuring both officers.

One of the deputies returned fire, but the suspect was not hit, police said. Both injured deputies were taken to nearby hospitals, and thankfully, their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

One Deputy Remains Hospitalized

As of Friday evening, one deputy had been released from the hospital, while the other remains under medical care. Authorities have not yet released the names of the deputies or the suspect.

The shooter, who has since been taken into custody, is currently being held at the Pettis County Jail. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is leading the ongoing investigation into the incident.
