‘The Valley’ EP Alex Baskin Refutes Speculation That the Show Will Pause After Season 2

The Unstoppable Drama of The Valley

I suppose you could say you shouldn’t believe every headline you read about The Valley. Lately, there’s been chatter about the show possibly hitting a pause button. You know, whispers of declining ratings and some so-called “problematic behavior” from the cast. It’s all very tabloid-esque, isn’t it? But then, enter stage left: executive producer Alex Baskin, ready to clear the air.

Baskin took to Instagram, asserting there was absolutely “NO TRUTH” to those rumors. He even tossed in a sunshine emoji for good measure, like a little digital shrug. Before the new season even got rolling in April, Baskin was singing praises about the cast. It seemed he’d already bought his ticket for this ride long ago.

The show, according to Baskin, is nothing short of a wild ride – an adventure where surprises lurk around every corner. He offered these thoughts during an appearance on Bravo Bravo F’ing Bravo With Kate Chastain. Describing it as “intense the entire way through,” he hinted at untold epilogues that just seem to keep emerging. You get the feeling he wishes there were no end in sight.

As season two unspools on Bravo, viewers are met with a plethora of stories and characters – including Jesse Lally, Janet Caperna, and Kristen Doute. The cast has already wrapped up filming the reunion episode. On May 2, Bravo tantalized fans with a peek at the seating chart, featuring exes Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright strategically placed closest to Andy Cohen.

Michelle Saniei, meanwhile, found herself towards the chart’s end but assured fans it wasn’t significant – everyone had their moment of drama. She recounted her seating switcheroo story, chuckling about how difficult it was for producers to decide because “so many people didn’t get along.” Oh, reality TV – always good for a bit of chaos, right?

Saniei didn’t mind her placement; her only wish was to not face her estranged husband Jesse directly – understandable, given the current tension between them over co-parenting their daughter Isabella amidst their divorce.

The episode airing on Tuesday, May 13, shifted its lens towards other turbulent relationships. It focused on Danny Booko and Nia Sanchez, their authenticity questioned by Brittany amidst her own marital split from Jax.

If reality TV’s your cup of tea – with all its spats and unexpected alliances – you’ll find plenty to digest here. Catch new episodes of The Valley every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo or revisit past drama anytime on Peacock.
