Shedeur Sanders Visits Cleveland High School Days After Draft
Shedeur Sanders Drops In on Cleveland High School Just Days After Joining Browns
It didn’t take long for Shedeur Sanders to show Cleveland what kind of energy he’s bringing. Just days after being drafted by the Cleveland Browns at pick No. 144, he was already blending workouts with something more grounded — stepping off the field to meet locals, quietly but purposefully.
His first official Tuesday in Cleveland involved training, hill drills, early prep for rookie camp. But on Wednesday, he took time out to visit John Marshall High School. No cameras, no press conference — just a quarterback with a fresh jersey and a message for the next generation.
“We [are] working out every day,” he told the students, “trying to accomplish something big. I wanted to come out and see y’all. And… yeah, I’m trying to bring Cleveland a Super Bowl.”
It wasn’t all speeches. Students got the chance to ask questions too. One asked what keeps him pushing forward. His answer? “Knowing people are watching me. Knowing I’m shaping how young people see themselves — that’s enough.” Honest, maybe a little vulnerable, and kind of unexpected. But that’s what stuck.
He signed autographs. Talked to staff. Just… hung out. A small gesture, maybe, but one that some students might hold onto for a while.
Sanders, whose name floated in first-round conversations like Peter Schrager’s mock drafts, now finds himself in a quarterback room with Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel. It’s a crowded group, but maybe that’s just another kind of fuel for him.
Back at Colorado, he passed for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns in 2024. But this week in Cleveland? The numbers didn’t matter. Not yet, anyway.
